Recently it was announced that Spotify’s US launch has been pushed back to 2010 due to ongoing negotiations with music publishers. Meanwhile, the service’s footprint in Europe continues to grow. Spotify has just reached a unique agreement in the UK with a mobile operator. 3 UK has announced it will bundle Spotify with its new Android-powered phone, the touch-screen HTC Hero smartphone.
The phone will cost about $162, plus $57 a month, for a two-year subscription. This is the first mobile bundling deal for Spotify, which has several million subscribers across Europe, with its strongest presence in the UK and Sweden.
